It's the card with both a 68-pin female and an Ethernet port.

Is there software required? Does it only work in certain PCI slots?

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

requires drivers for enet - scsi drivers in firmware on card

fully functional only in the first pci slot (the extended one)
scsi functions in any slot

software available at:

ftp://ftp.umax.com/supermac/e100

I just recently swapped the wife's s900 from the 10bt enet to the e100 for some 100bt transfers on the lan, and experienced the same lockup under 9.1. cmd-opt-p-r at startup to zap the pram seemed to resolve it. I did learn that I had to have the Apple Enet extension enabled to be able to choose the e100 slot as a connection for appletalk and tcp/ip. Appletalk stores some settings in nvram, and I think that is what was causing the conflicts.
