Hi Alan, Jaguar is 10.2 thru 10.2.8

definately! It is not really hard at all. I had the same concerns from prior disasters
with hardware upgrades. You should read about installing x and you should upgrade if
you haven't done so, to a Radion 7000 video card. Some of your peripherals might not
be supported in X but you have 2 machines so you could do what I did. My Agfa Duoscan,
a "professiona" grade and uncommon scanner, has not had drivers written for X. That
stinks and to solve the problem I just left 9.1 on my second S900 and connected the
scanner to it. I also installed an ACARD AHARD PCI Ultra ATA/66 PCI card with an ATA
80Gb internal drive. It's faster than an UW SCSI and one of its 4 partitions is my
startup drive. I also lost the original 2Gb hard drive. It's not seen in X but I can
start up in 9.2.2 and access it. I'm running 10.2.8 which is the last version of
Jaguar before Panther. I've been using Macs since the mid 80's and of all the later
systems, Jaguar has been the most solid and stable for me. If an app quits the OS and
other running apps are not affected. There are a lot of very useful features and
integration of various apps. I'm just encouraging you to go ahead. I't's really worth
it.
