[SM] Panther install On S900 problems

Has anyone installed Panther on an S900 having a Sonnet Crescendo G4 
board? Panther won't install on my S900 G4 Sonnet Crescendo SuperMac 
and a friends S900 with the same Crescendo G4 boards.  On both machines 
with XPF,  using the "Apple-V" keys at install (puts in verbose mode), 
a flashing CD light starts but the screen action ends with the Apple 
icon.  No spinning wheel-just a grey apple.  We tried various throttle 
speeds with and without the L2 cache on.   I get the same stall in both 
OS 9.1 & OS 10.2.8 using XPF.   The CD can be manually ejected with the 
panel button so it never really "caught" to start the install.  The 
install stops before the unix screen.  Thanks for any ideas and help.
