I've only used the Voodoo2's in my PM6500, and they yielded a pretty substantial
improvement in 3D acceleration vs. my ATI 3D Rage II. Having one brought the
SNES emulator on my PM6500 (250MHz 603ev) up to playable speeds playing RPG's in
fullscreen mode, though SuperFX emulation was still pretty abysmal.

The Voodoo5 is a Glide card with some OpenGL support, but having never had a
3dfx card with 2D support I can't comment on image quality. My advice on that
is to hit the xlr8yourmac archives.

The most obvious caveat is that there are no OS X drivers and may never be since
3dfx is gone. However, the source code for the latest 3dfx drivers for both Mac
and PC (same archive) is floating around the internet, just waiting for a clever
driver hacker to make an OS X port.
