It should work, but only as a USB 1.1 card. If/when you upgrade to OS X it will start working as a USB 2.0 card. I've never heard of a way to get USB 2.0 speed in OS 9. I'm using a 2 port $20 CompUSA USB 2.0 card in my S900 under OS 9.1, and it works fine.
