Hi Gregg,

I'm curious if you have tried running a utility like Norton or TTPro on the
drive itself while hooked up to the ATA card? I realize you have run some
utilities while the drive was hooked to the firewire port and that this is a
second drive. If not, this will help you rule out for sure that the drive
does not have a media problem. If you have TTPro, it has a special Surface
Scan that works real well, but Norton also has a quick check within its
diagnostics. If the scan hangs during the media/surface scan, then you will
know the drive may be your culprit and not firewire related.
