DSL has finally arrived in my local. Do I keep the 10Base-T card that came
with my original S-900 or get a new10/100 to insall in it's place?
If a new one, what's a good one to get and the best slot to put it in?
Thanx Jim
Even if you have the fastest DSL available in the country it's not going to come close to filling up the bandwidth of your 10 Base Ethernet built into your machine. So no reason to buy a new Ethernet card for DSL nor cable broadband service. For the record the built in Ethernet card also holds the Modem and printer serial ports. No one makes a replacement card that fits the special slot it's in. So any replacement card would be a normal PCI slot card. As someone said already the only reason to upgrade the Ethernet is if your networking several machines together. Even that may or may not be a good idea. I've tried several cards and none will work at 100mb speed on large files without crashing. I've also heard others mention this problem. Enjoy your new fast connection! Will S
