Running OS 10.2.8 and have installed a BTC DVD (IDE) driver on my S900. Under 9.2 Intech CD/DVD drivers pick up and mount the DVD yet under OSX the DVD player does not show up. The viewer / ripping programs I am looking to use all seem to be OS X based, any advise on how to get OSX to id DVD player ??

Frank, In order to use Apple DVD player in OSX. You need an ATI Video card. ATI Rage 128 16 Mb is the bottom which will work. Any ATI Radeon card for Mac will also work. You need to extract Apple DVD player from the OSX CD using Pacifist (shareware software) You may also need a hack in order for it to open and run. This is with Jaguar. Which I can supply you with. it's small so easy to email. Panther you just extract the DVD player and away you go. I don't know if the BTC drive will work with Apple DVD player. There are also mplayer and VLC for OSX which work with most ide DVD players and are both free apps. Best of luck, Will S
