I assume it is an external CD burner, Yer? SCSI? All external SCSI devices should be turned on before the computer. This is just a fact of life. I believe even an IDE burner on a Sonnet 66 or ACARD 66 PCI card will have to play by the SCSI rules, as it is seen as a device on a SCSI bus. Paul C
