Hi David,

The short answer is no.

Although there are problems to be solved with each
development in Mac OS X that require attention, the biggest
obstacle to overcome is getting the firmware on Old World
machines to load a boot image that is not System 7-based.
This is further complicated when the boot drive cannot be
written to, as with a CD-ROM drive.

However, since BootX has successfully been tweaked to allow
Mac OS to redirect the boot process to a *NIX-based boot
image--MKLinux did it, Yellow Dog does it, and XPF has had
some success--there is hope.
