Just a few general questions about an XPostFacto 3.09b install of 10.2 that lead to no serious problems, but no success.
S900 in 9.1, SIIG ata133 (slot#2) to 160GB, Adaptec 2930 (slot#3) to
18GB SCSI, G4/450 Powerlogic stock settings, 878MB RAM. Installing to empty
8 GB partition on 160 ATA. Mac Radeon 32 MB in slot#1, IX Turbo 4mb parked
in slot 4 for 2nd monitor when needed. USB in #5, FW in #6.
Used XPost to do custom install--minus a few printer drives, extra languages. Seemed to go OK after realizing Jaguar upgrade wouldn't work, and restart with 10.2.
On reboot it installed some small boot extension, and I got chime and spinning wheel, but it just kept spinning--not pizza, just spokes. After about 40 minutes of that I tried to restart into 9.1 which took a few tries--option restart wasn't enough. Should I have waited longer?
I found in 9.1 that scsi bus had disappeared, and used HDST to remount and return to original scsi startup partition--all is working now in 9.1
Tried XPost to OSX again--got a page of verbose notes including:
Adaptec warning: Resetting SCSI bus-- ... ... Load of/sbln/mach_init, error 86 Load of /etc/mach_init failed, error 2
and thats the end of screen.
Just wondering where this leaves me. Haven't registered for XPost forum yet, but considering it unless I can find a simpler solution.
Any ideas? thanks
David
