The woodshop environment you describe doesn't sound safe for computer or person. Set up dust collestion ASAP
If you ever work with exotic woods the dust abatement will be much cheaper than medical bills. Paul C

This is a long story.. in short I had a J700 with 4*128Meg Ram, Daystar XLR G4/400 (runing at 450MHz)Sonnet Trio, with a 160G Ata hard disk, Yamha CD RW, USB PCI CARD, and I believe a ATI Radeon 7000 Video Card. I was running OSX 10.3.6 for several months flawlessly until about a month ago, when performance deteriorated and freezes that required restarts became more frequent. I took everything apart and cleaned it (got very dusty inside in my woodshop with all those fans). After a week similar problems again. Eventually I managed to get everything working again by wipeing all the disks reinstalling OS9 & 10 on 2 different hard drives and then another crash probably caused by a SCSI adapter card momentarily touching the metal edge of the drive itself. Since then I have tried just about ever possible configuration of PCI cards, Video Cards, and CPU and I must have pressed every reset button, pulled the battery etc. Eventually I had to conclude that the motherbord was bad and I bought a used S900 on ebay I installed all the components tried again (almost)every possible configuration of RAM, PCI cards and CPU's but I can not get the this one to start up either. The machine will chime, then the Happy Mac icon apears in the center of the screen.... and that's it... the machine freezes there. I have tried different Hard drives (SCSI on both busses) that should start up in OS9.2.2. but the machine always freezes at the same spot. What have I missed?
