Just a note to say that I have sadly retired my C600.  The main 
limitation was the RAM issue and since there was no way around it, I 
have decided to no longer keep upgrading and using it as my primary 
machine. I want to thank everyone in here for the great advice and 
tips that helped me keep it running from  early 1998 to last month. 
It's been a great machine and I have had a blast learning about it 
and discovering workarounds to keep it going. I came into some money 
recently and I splurged and bought myself a dual 2.5 G5 with 2.5 gigs 
of RAM and I am overwhelmed by how much power I now have. I'm not 
getting rid of my beloved C600, but I may end up framing the 
motherboard for posterity.

Once again, thanks to all of you in here, what a great resource this 
list has been,
