I'm not using any version. After 2 days, no one had replied with suggestions to
my followup post
so I sent the second card back for a refund. While I had it though I tried the
version that comes
with card, 1.5F6, which is the correct one to use in our machines according to
PowerLogix tech
support. I also tried 2.1 which gave me error messages saying something about
OS X, which is not
installed on my machine. I tried Aaron's suggestion of trying CPU Director
INIT 2.0b1, but with
CPU Director 1.5f6. The program would only launch part way ( I could see the
name in the menu bar
but the panel where you make the changes would not appear.) The mouse would
still move but nothing
else worked.

The only other thing I can think of is that none of the drives I tried it on
had Apple drivers. I
don't know if that matters though.

Two drives were SCSI-- a Western Digital 4 Gig and my original Micropolis 2
Gig-- and one (my main
drive) a Qauntum Fireball ATA/IDE run off a VST/66 card. It tried OS 9 and 9.1
on each.

A side note, while the second card was in, on one of my reboots (trying to get
CPU D to work)
suddenly my main hard drive (the ATA drive) was "unrecognizable" and I had to
reinitialize it.
This drive had not given me any problems at all in the the 4 years I've owned
it. Making lemonade
out of lemons, I used the opportunity to have only the OS and CPU D on the
drive. Still would not
launch.

If anyone else buys the PL 1GHz card and gets it AND CPU D to work on an OS 9x
J700 or S900,
please report to the list.
