We seem to be short of problems with s900 and fortunately have branched out
into other areas. As I wrote before, I am rebuilding a PowerBook 2400c. So
far everything is going well. in fact, I had it up and running for about 15
minutes and then the flexible cable from the track pad to the computer
broke. Haven't been able to find a replacement part, but the computer works
fine with a mouse. Anyone have a flex cable?

I now have a new problem with an iMac G3 (Bondi Blue) 233 MHz computer. It
is running OS 9.1 with 128MB of memory. There is an out of the blue startup
failure that behaves as follows: Push power button (keyboard or computer)
the chimes sound, power light goes amber then green, caps lock light
flashes, computer shuts down. Unless the power cord is disconnected for
about 30 seconds pushing the power button again does nothing. If the power
cord has been disconnected for 30 seconds, the above scenario is repeated.

Other observations include: Can not startup from CD or external HD. Cleaning
and reseating memory chip and all connecting cables does no good. CD Rom
drive and fan power up, but can't be certain about HD. However, replacing
the HD does no good. The monitor is always black. Computer has a new 3.6V
lithium battery.

Where is the power supply for this computer located? Any thoughts about
reason for startup failure or how to get at the power supply or a method for
testing power supply will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Robert
