Obscure question : Had a friend donate a G3 slot loading DVD that chimed
but lost its video, given such low mhz and the problems of power supply
ad flyback transformer, it was thrown in the parts pile. So if someone
wants a mother board that chimes drop a line. But i would like to use
the slot loading DVD and drop in an extra firewire / usb or just tag it
on my ide card in my S900, noticed that it has no power hook up so I
must assume hat it draws power from the ide cable but nothing I hooked
it up to seemed to make the thing suck up a disk ???
Strange 50 pin SCSI (like) connector that has a ide connector at the end
+ the device is labeled Apple 4 speed DVD rom ATAPI Model SR8184-B.
Any ideas on how to get this thing to play with my S900 ?? Lastly I have
a darkstar card looking for a home for a C600.
