Hi All.
I am sure this is way off topic, but would anyone one the list know how to replace the hard drive in a Performa Powermac 5200? I can get at it but can't figure out how to remove it. The drive that is in it is less than 600mb. I thought if I could put a bigger drive in it the little ones could use it for some kindergarten stuff. I can't find any manuals on the Apple site about replacing the drive. There is info about adding ram and other cards but not a hard drive.
                                     Thanks

Its been along time ago but I have changed the hard drive in my Performa 5200 CD. Which was my first Mac and given away a long time ago. What I remember, mainly because of the difficulty of reaching inside and finally finding the latch that releases the sled and allows
 it to slide toward you.
If memory serves me the latch is plastic and at the bottom. Once released the sled will slide out with cables still attached. This then gives you enough slack to remove the cables and then the hard drive is free.. It was not and easy task getting my big hammy hands inside and I think
I may have left some DNA behind.

Good luck and let me know how it goes.
