Do You have that hardware test software that came bundled with your
s900. The name escapes me, I rarely get sound with mine now. Sometimes
it scratches when I start, but that test software shows I don't have
any left channel. I can't burn audio CDs anymore, but strangely I can
rip them.
My s900 still works for word processing.
