I've always liked Riding the Wind ever since I was a kid (Supertux was an important part of my childhood) and I am remaking a game I made back in late 2015 - early 2016 (which used backwards Supertux music because it was rushed so I accidentally left it in there forgetting to ask permission for some of them, but that's the past now what can I do, but I hope this doesn't affect anything on whether or not I'll be allowed to use two modified versions of Riding the Wind in the remake, it was my bad, I won't be using the other backwards music because I didn't grow much attachment to the other backwards stolen music which I again, apologize for doing) the thing I'm making is a remake of SuperEgor (which down to the core was inspired by Supertux but in the end isn't much alike it) one version of Riding the Wind I took the midi and time-switched it, another version of Riding the Wind I took the midi and midi-flipped it, I want to use the time-switched one (reversed one) for the title screen and the midi-flipped one (I think inverted notes) for when Egor explores around in Biwiland, since the remake will be one big connected level kind of like Kirby and the Amazing Mirror
Also, SuperEgor has a lot of violence and cussing, just in case it wouldn't be okay for you if I used the modified music in a game like that I assumed that since you had permission to use the Giana Sisters main theme in Supertux that it shouldn't be* too* hard for me to use Riding the Wind in SuperEgor also, this is how the song turned out with the timeswitch affect and the midiflip affect forest3 - timeswitch.wav <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_VJu2zJQKzdZc6YKnnOd8oNKXRgpB7M1/view?usp=drive_web> forest3-midiflip.wav <https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZSp5qOkUM1Al87-X-TcZLPvdf2HvCJNW/view?usp=drive_web> I felt so nervous asking permission from the creators of my childhood favorite game to use their song... and I am very nervous about the kind of response I will get, I'm having anxiety ~ Petr Splechta _______________________________________________ Supertux-Devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.lethargik.org/listinfo.cgi/supertux-devel-lethargik.org
