This is pretty unprecedented, but it made my own use case much simpler. I've packaged the s6 project (and its skaware deps) as a python package.
You can now `pip install s6` to build and install skalibs, execline, s6. I'm still working on open-sourcing my code, but it's pretty inconsequential. I expect that bit to be done today or tomorrow. The result is here: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/s6
