Hellow fellow supervision users, Just announcing 0.12.0_rc2 which became more usable than ever while still being simple than before. What's new since the beta2? Well, quite a few things changed in the right direction with sanity clean and simplifications. rc3 is almost ready with more lines threwn away than being added. --Behavior of (lazy) service start/stop slightly changed between rc1 and rc2; and a minor ABI and API change between rc2 and rc3 for a great deal of simplifications (which are late but welcomed for maintainability sake.)
Some performance optimizations went in with the usual bug fixes. There might be an rc4... though it looks like an actual stable would be cut down asap. Some numbers? 10 seconds for boot up and ten for shutdown unless crypted root et. al are in play... which double the shutdown; well, dmsetup and cryptsetup are taking a few sec (10!) tring to shutdown some volumes. Services? Some complicated stuff like to mount local filesystems (dm-crypt, device-mapper, raid)... udev, are already include making quiet easy to setup in no time. Other numbers? There are fare more lines for services than anything else... What's missing? Some (Open|Free|Net)BSD testing are missing... Cheers. https://github.com/tokiclover/supervision/
