Hello,
I have a pfsense 1.2.3-Release system that I installed the NRPEv2 package on (After using the instructions on the forums to install the missing dependencies.) I can successfully run the check_ping command on the firewall to check pings to a database server, but when I run the check_nrpe command from the Nagios server, I get:
CHECK_NRPE: Socket timeout after 10 seconds.
I've tcpdumped on the pfsense box and confirmed that packets are getting to the firewall, tcpdumped on the database server and see packets coming in when I run the check_ping from the pfsense box but no packets when I run the check_nrpe from the nagios server. For the example of the command I'm running I'll use p.p.p.p for the IP address of the pfsense box, and d.d.d.d for the IP of the database server.
Here is the check command I am running from nagios:
/usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H p.p.p.p -c check_ping -a d.d.d.d -w 200,5% -c 500,10%

Another bug I've found in the package is that the "save" button does not save the current changes I've made, but actually saves the last changes I made before I hit save. So, for instance, if the last octet in the bind IP address is .30, I change it to .31 and click save, it stays on 30. I change it to 32 and click save, it changes it to 31.

Thanks in advance,

Alan Worstell
