Jens, Unfortunately, I've never finished it. Only played a little bit making a half of image (lines only) an average values of neighbour pixels (from corresponding color channels) and half - differences. Then I switched to implementing fft256 which also needs to be revised.
Some code is here: http://elphel.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/elphel/fpga/ But I'd start implementation of a DWT from scratch downloading the latest x359 code and modifying it - I will try to help you with that.
