Dear elphel support, I found the answer to my problem in this message:
http://www.mail-archive.com/support-list@support.elphel.com/msg01595.html The XML files are backed up while firmware flash (which is a good thing), that's why our camera experienced no changes. Thanks anyway, and we can now continue using the cameras!
