because you have some corrupted files. Close SM, then
delete all the *.msf files within the news section of
the SM profile. Restart SM. Now click on each
newsgroup and redownload all the messages.
NOTE: deleting this file with also remove any labels
you had set, aswell as other column headers you have
such as flag.
