This file existed because he was testing SeaMonkey nightlies and did not remove the old profiles completely. Anyone who had not been testing pre release 2.0 would not have this problem.

When I was testing the nightlies, before installing a new one, I would blow away the profile folder, so as to test the migration process. Therefore I never had such a problem.

What I would wonder is how Ed's rogue profiles.ini got into the old SeaMonkey location? Everyone I tested on a Mac placed a profile in the new location. I never did test the Windows nightlies, perhaps some of the early ones did put the profiles in the old location.
