Ehm, if you expand Message-Id or References, your choice is forgotten at
the next posting. At least it was so at the time, i wrote a private
patch to correct this for me annoying behavior.
Haven't tested since then without that patch.

I'll second that! I also feel the toggles/twisties used-for
"References:" as well as "Message-ID:", could be dispensed with
entirely, making them permanently-readable, like any other header.
