Try as I might, I can't drag any links onto the personal toolbar on the
work PC - fine on the home one.
Any pointers?

Odd, you posted here with no problem. Did you post with the mailing list?
The most likely problem with posting to the group is that you are
looking at it on another newsserver. Some newservers mirror the support
groups, and will show the messages, but posting is spotty at best.
Are you subscribed via news.mozilla.org? That is the best way to use
this support forum.
If you are subscribed via news.mozilla.org, please post back so we can
troubleshoot why you are not able to post.
As to the problems of your work machine as opposed to your home machine,
I think we need more information. What are the differences between the
two profiles, as far as installed extensions, themes, plugins, or
anything else which is different. Are the Windows version exactly the same?
