I did check preferences and no the block for deletion upon exit is not
checked. But I did find out if it is not read it is not deleted when put
in the trash file.
How come this reply did not thread with the original post?
Anyhow, have you checked tour View Settings for the Trash folder? Set
View>>Messages to All. It is possible that the messages are there, just
hidden from you.
