The keyboard button is handy because it gives me a new window whether
SeaMonkey is running or not. Or at least, it used to before 2.0.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. I had understood that if SeaMonkey 2.0 did not have focus, it worked as you wished.

What I am suggesting is that if SeaMonkey does have focus, rather then having to click on your desktop, use CTRL+N to open a new window. It may not be as handy as your programmable button, but a least you don't have to reach for the mouse.

Of course that won't do anything if SeaMonkey does not have focus, or is closed, but won't your button work in those cases?

Again, I'm not suggesting this as a solution, just a workaround.
