I miss that about the Sidebar, too. This was a default behavior - no
add-ons required - with both the Sidebar and the Mail Preview pane for
the previous Modern themes (you had to click the handle, but that was ok

Okay, this is odd. Using Venerable Modern, I have grippies, and with a
click I can hide the side bar, then display it again. Just to make sure
it is not theme related, I switched back to the default theme. The
grippies are still there, and I can still hide and display the sidebar
with one click. That does not work for you?

Gripes don't work on the standard themes from Mozilla. The Gripes were
removed several years ago because the two lines of code required for
them was wasted space. I see the work on venerable. Now if underline
works I will stay with it.
