If you alternate between SM 1.1.18 and SM 2, this behavior is expected if you use POP3. I don't understand fully. Will sometimes start SM1 when clicking on the icans and sometimes SM2? Could it be, that there are remains of SM 1, perhaps for autostart or quicklaunch? But that's only a guess because i know nothing about a modern Windows.
