I appreciate your response Phil, I guess my surprise is that a feature that's been with us this long should be declared "out" - I assume long thought was given to doing that, deciding that 2.o's other improvements outweighed waiting until form manger could be rewritten/fixed. It never occurred to me that a version of my favorite browser would suddenly omit a feature, going back instead of forward. I know that SM like all mozillas relies on volunteers, and bless them all for work that we all appreciate so much, and yes there is a "but" coming- I used all of SM- browser, mail,composer and sometimes chat. I doubt anyone here really knows the customer base for the various components, or how many now seeing form manger gone will just "vote with feet" and use some other browser.
But thanks for the thought - I'll watch to see if someone kind soul rides to the rescue- and never again will I update a browser without reading ALL the update notices .
