I notice that some paths in my about:config page start with [ProfD] -- I

However, not all paths are written thus -- many include the complete
path including (this is Windows) the drive letter.

Can all paths in the configuration or prefs.js be written relative to
the profile directory with [ProfD]? In particular, I'd like to get away
from the use of the drive letter so I can move a profile to a different
drive (or change the drive letter of the drive).

Are there any other symbolic file system locations other than [ProfD]? I
assume that Windows-defined symbolic locations, such as %APPDATA%,
aren't usable in paths in the profile.

Is there a better forum to ask an arcane technical question such as this?

perhaps mozilla.dev.apps.seamonkey on this newsgroup's server

Something I notice on Linux, is that apart from user-preferenced external-paths (browser.open.dir for-example), full-URL profile-paths are only being used-by the Messenger-functions (including the message-compose-editor). Don't know about other relative-path-symbols used. Barry
