Unfortunately, such things don't get changed in minor releases.
In a lot of ways it's like they just simply threw out some of the most
user friendly features of the previous interface in deference to
whatever they were personally using at the time...I mean - all you need
do is try to use some of these "features" on a laptop or with a variety
of trackpads for about 10 minutes and the issues become pretty clear.
