This isn't how you should go about things. It's a bit pointless when you tell the reader in step two how to make the extension compatible. You don't even tell the reader to undo the changes done in step 1 afterwards.

The better way is to download the .xpi file (right-click > save target as...), open it with your favourite archive program (eg WinZip), and then edit the files in it as mentioned in step 2. Then open the .xpi file with SeaMonkey, and install it.
