The headers and posts go back to the beginning of the group -- none
have expired due to age. As I type this, the most recent article
number is 47325. Article 1 is blank because of a quirk in the Giganews
server in setting up new groups, so Dave's first post is article 2 and
Daniel's reply is article 3.
Some of those slots 47325 are empty, the articles having been removed
from the server, mainly spam. I've just downloaded all the From
headers, and there are 47029 of them. I can't explain Daniel's count
of 38943.
Since this is server trivia and not SeaMonkey support stuff, I'm
crossposting and setting followups to mozilla.general.
