I apologize for making the above post. In the past, when I travelled, I
was unable to receive email or newsgroups directly. I had to go to the
website of my provider and read email there, and just do without
newsgroups. That was the status through years.
Now I am away from home and was visiting a website when the email alert
went off. It surprised me! I opened the news reader and somehow all my
email was there. I have no idea whether this is due to a Seamonkey
upgrade, or to something my ISP did.
I went ahead and read my email, then read this newsgroup. I didn't look
at the other newsgroup server I use for some other newsgroups.
I was happy, because it is a lot easier to read news and mail here, than
on my ISPs web page. To see if I could use the newsreader to send
email, I sent the above to myself, and erroneously to this newsgroup.
The email failed, but the newsgroup posting worked. This morning I
tried to use my other newsgroup server, but was denied access as I
needed a password. I'll look it up when I get home.
But for now I can read email and read and post to this newsgroup, but
cannot read or post in other newsgroups, nor send email from the reader,
which I can work around by sending it from my ISPs web page.
I'm not technologically adept, and have no idea why this change has come
about.

and we will try to assist you.
There is a specific test group on this server, mozilla.test. It would be
best to post test messages there.
