It's a known issue (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=525601) due to a conflict to McAfee (sometimes hidden because McAfee is repackaged under an ISP name). You need to uninstall its Site Adviser component (which isn't in the Add/Remove programs menu) in Program Files -> McAfee -> Site Adviser.
