Don't use use nightlies if you are a user, as there is a (beta) release that works.
I think I recall that the latest release version would not install in SM 2.x.
Just use Lightning 1.0 Beta 1 from addons.mozilla.org as that one works fine with all SeaMonkey 2.0.x versions.
