I don't have any that really require xsidebar at this point.

The need for xsidebar was to provide a way to make the extension options
accessible.  With the Addons Manager, that is no longer an issue.

xsidebar is still a neat extension though.

There was one extension that required xSidebar That I used in 1.1.18. it was and extension that put graphical emoticons in plaintext. the advantage was that some of the more unusual emoticons that you don't normally remember are in the list. Basically it is the same list as used in the html Mail. I'd love to install it in SM but I've forgotten the name of it.
