David, it's been possible in SM since 2.0 came out!

I have sixty-odd NG's on one of my Usenet servers, Originally, they were listed in the order I subscribed, then, in SM, I re-ordered them according to subject matter, now I've re-re-ordered them according to the number of un-read messages I've got in the groups.

Don't know when I last looked at a .rc file!
