This add-on is supposed to be for seamonkey to add in the bing search
engine to the browser. Clicking on the download button gives me a
popup saying I have to use a mozilla based browser like firefox. What
the heck? I'm on seamonkey trying to add a seamonkey add-in and
seamonkey is a mozilla based browser. I've tried to spoof it by
altering the general.useragent.override setting to look like firefox,
and based on an sample script for browser identification using
javascript the script says I'm running firefox, but I still get no
love from the add-in page. Any ideas why seamonkey is not being
recognized as a mozilla based browser on mozilla's own site?

In SeaMonkey, the Location Bar (where the URL shows at the top of the browser
window) is combined with the Search Bar, which is available separately in
Firefox. It appears the Bing add-on is designed to work with Firefox's
separate Search Bar only. I'm uncertain as to why the add-on shows up as
compatible with SeaMonkey; definitely seems to be a glitch at AOM's end.

Currently, AFAIK, the only way to use an alternative search engine in SM is
via the Sidebar and through Mycroft (http://mycroft.mozdev.org/). Only the
Mycroft plug-ins with the apple symbol are compatible with SM 2.0.x at this
time, and Bing is unfortunately among those plug-ins that are A9 or
OpenSearch. I'm not sure where the request/development of Mycroft for SM
to support OpenSearch plug-ins is at currently, but last word I'd read
(somewhere) was that it was being sporadically worked on, at the very least.

No help for your own situation at this time, but such is the SeaMonkey life.
