I have noticed that if for some reason I get a gap (e-mail burps, new program install etc) then SM will delete everything "around" 10 x days old but if it is "way more than" x days it will not.

There seems to be some sort of hysteresis in the program so that if you set it to 10 days it may delete 10,11,12 days but not 13 days or more (I don't know the actual gap). This always gets me when I take my annual 2 week vacation each year and some files are over that limit.

My solution is a couple of times a year I go into my account though the web interface and clean out all the very old files that get missed. There usually are just a few days worth in that gap.

Annoying bug for sure, but it has been there since the Netscape days so I'm used to it.

Why doesn't the "Delete messages over 10 days" work for all my email
accounts? All messages over 10 days are deleted in two of my email
accounts but the others have much older messages. All accounts are
active.

I set this up forall accounts in SM 2.04's "Mail& Newsgroups Account
Settings" under Disk Space.
