Thanks, I read it. I disabled the e-mail scanning, although it appears to only do outgoing - POP, I guess it does not need to do SMTP if it is doing it's job. Didn't make any appreciable difference. It's no show stopper, but kind of annoying. I should try with another mail program to really check - some time.
