Outgoing Server (SMTP):
Description: <your choice>
Servername: smtp.att.yahoo.com
port: 465
Username: <your actual full email address>
  [note: make sure it is the full email address, not just a "username">
Authentication Method: Normal Password
Connection Security: SSL/TLS

works for me.
