I see Google now has an SSL version: https://www.google.com. Is there
anyway to change the default search fromhttp://www.google.comtothe
new SSL version? If so how?

Yes!

about:config ->  "browser.search.defaulturl" set to
"https://www.google.de/search?q=";

Then in your Browser directory is an folder named "searchplugins".

The *.src-files can be edited with any normal Texteditor like Notepad.

Good luck

Thanks,
Chris

Close SeaMonkey
Do a search for "searchplugins/google.src"
Then open it in your editor program.
Change the line "action="http://www.google.com/search";
to read
"action="https://www.google.com/search";
Save the file
Open SeaMonkey and it should now sears with google secure.
