If you extracted SeaMonkey from the downloaded archive to your home
directory (or anywhere below that), you can then just launch it from
there (e.g. /home/youruser/seamonkey/seamonkey) and use the built-in
update mechanism to keep it up-to-date (Help/Check for Updates).
Great, thanks Jens. Works a treat, and now I have redirected my panel
link to Seamonkey to that destination, so it fires up 2.0.5 when I click
on it. Just the job!
One further question - does this mean I still have the old 2.0.4 version
somewhere, unnecessarily taking up disc space? Should I clean it out,
and if so how? Thanks.
