No, as 1) SeaMonkey 2.0.5 parallels Firefox 3.5.10 which doesn't have
that, 2) we don't like shipping new features in stable releases, and 3)
Firefox doesn't have mail and newsgroups (the code for that is not
working with settings that are a prerequisite for this "crash
protection" work).
Oh, I thought stable SM2 releases were based on the latest stable
Firefox. :(
We still hope to get this to work for SeaMonkey 2.1 but a lot of work is
needed to make mail and newsgroups code ready to work with the changed
build settings needed to do that.
Thanks for the reply. ;)
Just had first crash of SeaMonkey 2.0.5 just hours after install.
just posted link to a screenshot of all my about:crashes since
November. a big portion are due to Flash. And this latest one was
I've had two flash only websites to bring down SeaMonkey and my system
at the same time. first system Crash I've had in 10 years or so. That
was a couple of months ago. Had a fellow on the adobe groups fussing
about Jobs decision to not allow flash on the iPad. Jobs said the number
one crasher on the Macintosh platform was Flash as give by system
reports sent in when a system crashes on users computer. He bragged on
two Flash only websites I tried them and promptly received the system
crashes. (they were repeatable).
