Running SM 2.05 on a Dell Precision 650 with dual Xeon 3.06 gHz CPUs and
Windows XP SP3.
I have had three e-mail accounts, all with different ISPs, one of which
is G-mail, running satisfactorily for over a year. When I set up a 2nd
G-mail under a new name today, Google set up the account properly and I
can access the new G-mail account via G-mail's web site.
What I can't make work seems to be SM's e-mail function. I set up the
4th e-mail account under a different name from any of the others and it
is listed on my SM e-mail page. None-the-less, SM can't seem to
distinguish between the two G-mail accounts as G-mail refuses to
download e-mail when I put in the new account's G-mail password --
claiming the address/password is not recognized. This seems to me to be
a problem with SM that could be because the two G-mail accounts share
the same incoming and outgoing server addresses. Alternatively, I simply
don't know how to set up SM properly.
Help! What am I doing wrong and/or how do I deal with this kind of problem?
Thanks, in advance, for any advice, guidance, etc.
Check with your ISP. I have 7 different accounts (user/passwords) all
using the same server addresses (incoming.verizon.net and
outgoing.verizon.net) with no problems.
